Like many Carrara marbles, Statuario was well known to the Romans at least in the first century BC. Among the major historical works, in addition to the Pantheon, there are Apllo Belvedere in the Vatican Museum and the statue of Saint Teresa in benini in the Victoria Church of Santa Maria della in Rome.
